Early in 2098, something strange began to happen to the monsters on Godzilla Island. They began to get very ill. This had happened before: the last time the monsters had acted like this had been when the spirit of the deceased Spacegodzilla had possessed Godzilla and had used the Monster King as a physical way to attack the monsters. Fearing the spirit of Spacegodzilla might be returning, the G-Guard Commander ordered pictures be taken all across the island. He hoped that the ghost of the monster might show up on film, just as it had before. However, nothing was descovered in the pictures taken. In fact, there was nothing metaphysical to be descovered at all, for Spacegodzilla was a ghost no longer. In physical form again, the beast had grown much stronger, now able to copy the moves of his enemies and equiped with a powerful red ray and golden shoulder crystals. The beast fought Godzilla, but, even despite the beast's new abilities, was forced to retreat back into space after losing it's left shoulder crystal to Godzilla in battle. It is unknown where it went or what happened to it.
