Gombei was a giant member of the Onbaki from the television series Daimajin Kanon that served as a late-game protagonists.
Gombei possesses dark gray skin covered in a straw skirt, beads around his neck and wrists, and his head resembles a large bronze temple bell. Notably he has a large amount of fat that gives him a sumo wrestler's physique.
After Bujin refused to awaken to battle the increasingly powerful Ipadada, the Onbaki turned their hopes to another giant. A young yet giant-sized Onbaki much like Bujin named Gombei was enlisted to battle the angry spirit before it could reach its apex of strength and size. When the Ipadada reached a truly gigantic size, Gombei was quick to challenge it when the other warriors could not. He rushed in like a sumo wrestler and smashed into it in an attempt to hold it. The yokai spirit knew what they were planning and stayed out of the guardian’s reach, but it was futile. Eventually Gombei sucked up the Ipadada into his body, but not before one of its hands were severed. It was believed the nightmare had finally ended until the severed limb turned into three soul drones and rushed the resting giant. They evaded the other Onbaki and removed the piece of parchment on Gombei’s belly. The magical seal broken, Gombei’s stomach exploded outward as Ipadada rose up to its full size and height.
