A monster created from the restless spirit of the first Godzilla. In the unmade film Godzilla vs. Ghost Godzilla a.k.a. Godzilla vs. Godzilla, it would appear and fight the present Godzilla and eventually kill him. The film was canned for several reasons, the most obvious of which being that Godzilla's previous two Heisei adventures pitted him against Godzilla-like kaiju (Mechagodzilla, Spacegodzilla). Also, the creator said: "Having three movies in a row where Godzilla fights a monster that resembles him is just too much". So the project was dropped in favor of Godzilla vs. Destroyah. The name "Ghost Godzilla" has subsequently been applied to the Godzilla seen in Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack.
