You play as Ford Brody going into San Francisco to rescue survivors. There are four missions: HALO Jump, Ground Rescue, Trapped by Fire, and Onto the Rooftops. Prior to May 31, 2014, there were only three missions in the game, with Trapped by Fire being added on that day.
The Halo Jump mission has the player jumping down into San Francisco, avoiding the other jumpers. The player passes by Godzilla's head, and then guides Ford Brody on a parachute avoiding collision with crumbling buildings.
The player goes into first-person mode and travels through the streets to rescue the survivors. After collecting explosives to destroy certain walls with, the player encounters and runs from Godzilla. Soon afterwards, a wall must be exploded to save a group of survivors.

The player rescues civilians trapped in fiery debris and rubble.
Onto the Rooftops
The player travels to the top of a building roof to rescue survivors, only to be attacked by Godzilla, who the player has to run from. After the player gets into the plane and escapes Godzilla, the game ends.
