The Giant Praying Mantises (大カマキリ,   Ōkamakiri^?, lit. Large Mantis) were a species of giant mantis kaiju that first appeared in the 1967 Godzilla film, Son of Godzilla. Template:TOC

History

Son of Godzilla

The Giant mantises roamed the forests peacefully until the Japanese government decided to set up a base for testing weather control. The testing resulted in a radioactive fallout on the island, turning the mantises into gigantic ones dubbed Kamacuras.

Trivia

• The ShodaiKama puppet was used to portray both the Giant Praying Mantis and Kamacuras.
