"Gappa the Triphibian Monsters" (also known as "Monster From a Prehistoric Planet") is a movie made by Nikkatsu Corporation in 1967, and directed by Haruyasu Noguchi.

OverviewEdit

If you've seen Gorgo and Mothra, then you've basically seen Gappa. Many elements from the film are strikingly similar to those two earlier movies.

Interestingly the director of special effects for Gappa, was none other than Akira Wantanabe, of Godzilla fame.

SummaryEdit

A greedy land developer has plans to turn an entire island in to the world's largest amusement park. While surveying the remote island a group of scientists find what they believe to be a baby dinosaur.

Deciding to take the baby back to Japan with them, the terrified natives insist that they are disturbing their God, and plead with them not to remove the infant from the island. Ignoring the natives' pleas, the scientists take the baby back with them.

Inevitably the infants parents arrive and proceed to destroy everything in sight, searching for their offspring. Once they are reunited with their child, they all leave to go back to their island and continue living in peace.
