Bagan is a creature that was supposed to feature in several unmade movies: the original draft of the Return of Godzilla, Mothra Vs. Bagan, and Bagan Vs. Godzilla as well as actually being in the video game Super Godzilla as the final boss. The Bagan in the Return of Godzilla is a totally different creature than the one in later versions, though he keeps a few traits.

Contents

Version 1

The first version of Bagan was a shapeshifter. It started out as an ape-like creature but after being wounded it became a dragon-like creature. Each time it changed it healed itself. It then dive into the sea and becomes fish-like. It then runs into Godzilla but finding that it can't defeat him in any single form it makes a towering combined form. But after this it can't change so it can't heal and Godzilla defeats it.

Version 2

In Mothra Vs. Bagan, Bagan is an ancient creature that protects the land of China. It was frozen in the Himilayas one day long ago but now there is global warming and the beast breaks free. It sees the humans harming the land and begins to destroy them. Bagan is stopped by Mothra though. As the fight goes on in Singapore a Mothra egg hatches and the larva comes to help its' parent. Unfortunately the adult Mothra is killed and Bagan moves on. The Larva cocoons itself and becomes a adult Mothra. It then attacks and defeats Bagan in Hong Kong. In Godzilla Vs. Bagan Godzilla was supposed to fight Bagan (the version from Mothra Vs. Bagan) and the Gotengo was supposed to fit into the story somehow. Unfortunately this movie never got past the development stage. Bagan also featured as the final boss of Super Godzilla. He had extra powers because he had Godzilla and King Ghidorah cells mix in him. In Super Godzilla he attacks with claw slashes, barrages of diamond shaped stars, and a white plasma laser. Bagan has the most health of any boss in the game and Godzilla attacks will do very little damage to him. He is easily the hardest enemy in the game, generally seen as impossible to defeat as normal Godzilla, and still seen as a hard fight as Super Godzilla.

Powers

His only known powers for the first version is shapeshifting and the only known powers for the second version are flight and fireballs.

The version that appeared in Super Godzilla possessed high physical strength and durability. For attacks he could swipe with his claw, shoot white star-like objects from his horns, and fire a white plasma beam from his mouth. Bagan's attacks were, bar none, the strongest any enemy use. In addition, he had the most health out of any enemy in the game and normal Godzilla's attacks would do little, damage, only Super Godzilla could effectively hurt him. These factors caused most to view beating him as normal Godzilla as impossible.
